Thanks
Well, I finished the drowning process. Its gonna be a bit of a hassle to put all the events in every other place with water. The way I have this set up its gonna be difficult to do it in a common event. But it'll be worth it.
Bear with me on the numbers. I looked high and low on the Spriters Resource and I didn't see them, so I had to personally rip them from SRB2 and do a quick recoloring job on them to make them look acceptable. All of the above took about a half an hour and I was already in a rush. Speaking of which, I think the numbers should be a tad bit lower..

This is kind of a cruel screen shot now that I think of it.
Thats what happens when you run out of time.
I plan to make some water based dungeons. In fact, I almost can't WAIT until I start one. I already know one of them that will have to show up already, but I need to think of a new idea.

That doesn't look that good. I think you should be able to put your head under water, not just die for keeping it above. Like if there was something blocking the way in a waterway, you could dive under water, and come out the other side.

He doesn't die for drowning or anything, he collapses from exhaustion. You can't swim forever..

It'd be complicated to make him only be able to drown if he dives. But I could make it so that you can dive, I had already been thinking of that.
But Kapus is right. Think of it as in Brawl. When you're in water too long, you start struggling, until you eventually just sink.

The data base went kablooey AGAIN. Its a repeat of the first time. Speedy looks at the game and everything is blank. I don't know what keeps happening. Although this time the computer was acting up around the time afterwards.
Once again, I have a backup. I saved a backup when I was testing out the swimming. I'm set back a lot with some things I had been working on while taking a short break, but I won't need to work on them until much later. Thankfully I'm set back only a little bit in terms of things that I have to do. Although its disappointing since I JUST finished updating one of Kyle's skills.

This is why you make backups after every time you're done making changes. It's probably best to compile them all too.

But in any case, I got a new video up.

I suppose I ought to notify everyone that after that minor setback, (which was actually worse than I had previously thought) I'm going to take a break from working on this game until I feel the motivation to redo what I had JUST made last month over again.
In the mean time, I'm going to go back to my previous project. One that not many people here know too much about. I'm remaking my old game, Frost's Adventure. I may or may not create a new topic here about it.

Well, I'm back to working on this game. I've discovered that the Alternate Costumes really can be used in battle. Also, I've discovered that using the same method, I can make the battle animations used for the characters can also be tinted to match the time of the day and change as the day goes on. But that will have to come much later, like after I've completed every character.
In terms of recovering lost data, I'm almost right back to where I left off in the Attack on GFC. But I haven't recovered the data for a boss that I had worked on yet. But thats not needed until much later in the game anyway, so its fine.
I've also gone back and started to work on Smash's sprites. I've successfully updated nearly all of his attacking sprites. Minus the removal of the spikes on his knuckles. I will get those done later.
Man, I'm glad to be getting back to working on this game. I just wish I had more time in the day to work on it. I'm also working on another game at the same time.

...The Chao are playable characters? Also, the Kirby character with a headband has an incredibly blocky animation. You might want to fix that,

I atfirst didn't even know what you were talking about. You're looking at the video. The kirby character, I already know his problems. And I was in the process of fixing his sprites. It would take a lot more work to fix his victory animation, and I already know that it looks blocky and such. But thats for a completely different game.
As for Splice The Hedgehog: Yes, The Chao ARE Playable. Actually, Thats just one chao. Its Still Kitty, notice that each of those chao have something in common: They all have cat ears and (except for the small child one) cat tails. At a certain point in the game, Kitty will start to evolve into an adult chao. Depending on certain events that happened in the game including feeding Kitty Hero or Dark fruit, Kitty will change into either a Hero Chao, Neutral Chao, or Dark Chao. Each one has different stats.
Thinking of it now, I could have sworn that I already discussed that. =/

I've just got the biggest spark of motivation I've had in a while to work on my game. On my mom's laptop, there's a sound device that I can use to make Midi's sound awesome. That is how I got Kyle's theme. And now, I'm currently going through my old midi's AND getting new ones and listening to them to see how they sound. When I listened to the original midis that Daz used to make Fallen Angel Zone's music...Oohhhh...That was too good. When Daz remixed a new version of Fallen Angel Zone act 1, he made it creepy. I mainly wanted it to be a beefed up version of the original. This actually matches what I had in mind, only far better than I imagined. Of course, I can obviously still use Daz's new remix. I will upload the music that I beefed up to YT and show them here. I've recorded them with Wavepad and turned them into MP3's, incase you were wondering. All the while I'm recording, I have free time to work on my game. I'm currently recording some music right now.

I'm continuing on with the story. I'm finding it very difficult to overcome this miniboss.
These screenshots were taken when I was a level 7
And I STILL died. Although I've beat it once, and ALMOST beat it at a level 5 with only about 2 chilidogs, a sandwich, and 4 1ups. Its really hard. You'll have to grind a bit to get some money and shop for some items. Yes, the shop is open at a time like this.

Time for some Splice The Hedgehog fun facts!
Splice the Hedgehog is Smash's 10th or 11th project using the RPG maker 2003.
Splice the Hedgehog is Smash's only project that didn't have the word "Adventure" in the title
Speedler, Speedy's pet chao, was originally going to be a playable character. He was cut from the main cast, though.
Keela, Kyle the hedgehog's twin sister, was originally going to be playable. She was cut from the game, though.
Before Smash begin working on this game, Splice was a very minor and uninteresting character.
Splice the hedgehog features many Smash and I's characters that haven't appeared in one of Smash's projects yet. They include: Crystal, Splice, Tab, Lily, Hyper, and Gizmo.
Smash has described Splice The Hedgehog as his "golden egg," meaning that he'll probably be successful with this game, unlike his other projects.
Flash, Hyper's little brother, was originally going to be a playable character. Flash was cut from the cast and was actually dumped as a character about a month later.
The Animations used in Splice the hedgehog(e.g Battle Animations) are listed in the database. The 404th animation has absolutely nothing on it and is titled "Not Found." When you play the animations, you can hear an error sound. This is an obvious joke on the infamous "404 not found" error message.
Sonic The Hedgehog has the greatest Agility out of the playable characters.
Gizmo has the greatest Intelligence(Magic Attack Power) out of the playable characters.
Kyle has the greatest maximum HP of all playable characters
Shade has the greatest maximum MP of all playable characters.
Knuckles has the greatest maximum Attack Power AND Defense Power of all playable characters.
When Speedy is K.O.ed in battle, he makes a cartoony "doink!" sound when he falls to the ground
Shade is completely resistant to instant death attacks.
Contrary to that, Pearl is very weak against instant death attacks.
Lily can equip every kind of weapon, but has poor attack power.
Kyle starts out with his strongest weapon.
Lily's ultimate weapon is an Eel, a large reference to the constant running gag of eels on this site.
One of Kyle's weapons is called the "Turbo Blade," a reference to...a private joke in Smash and I's childhood. The description on the weapon says its a foreign blade.
Thats all I can think of now. There will obviously be more in the future as Smash and I make progress in the game.
