Do they have to be sprited or can we draw a banner design?

As I said, it doesn't have to follow the SW banner tradition that I had going with my banners. You can make it look however you want it.

Here is my entry for the contest. It actually follows the same style as the previous banner, but I've added a few more effects.

Can it have Sally and the freedom fighters in my banner?

I wouldn't advise it, since this site is based off of the Sonic Series.
That may give people a different impression.

What Kappy said. It's better that you don't use characters from other Sonic Universes.

Wow. Thats really good. I like how you brought back the old idea of the name in the stars. Maybe..If you added a glow to the stars, it might look a little better. I dunno though, It might also mess it up.

there is a glow in the stars. Its a little hard to see, but hey. I said I'd fix up the text.

This banner might be Kapus at his best.

I only noticed the glow after I made the post. It was hard to see, but I can see it better now.

Ill get working On the christmas banner now :)

So, like I planned, we're having a banner contest in place of it. You all who are interested
try your hand at making a banner for SW. Submit the banners that you made in this topic.
They don't necessarily have to follow the SW banner tradition that I had going in the banners that I make,
so feel free to make it look how you want it. The submissions will end next Sunday, and the poll will open up.
The banner with the most votes will be put up. How long? Probably a month or 2.

Its for the replacement of the Weekly banners. Holiday Banners don't count.

Christmas isn't for like 30 days or so. Its too early for that.
I've stated plenty of times before that this contest is being held in place of the weekly banner, although the
winning banner will stay around much longer than a week.
