Chatbox

We're going to disable the chatbox for a few days. Too many people neglect the forum to use the chatbox, so we're gonna remove it and see if people can learn to have fun on the forums, not just the chat. It'll be back in three days.

Chatboxes take activity away from forums. That's why many have the habit to only come on for the chat. Posting is just as easy as chatting in the chatbox. We're just trying to encourage everyone to post more. And besides it's coming back anyway.

I like this idea. Even though I'm in the chatbox a lot, I still post.

There are other places you can get active at besides the chat box you know. Posting in the forum isn't a bad thing and if someone isn't on the same time as you it is a good way to for example, do a rp you want to do but the person is hardly on. Have a thread for that would help a lot. Of course that is a example. We need more people to post in the forum. Not more people in the chat box.

I did this on my site a few years ago. I agree, the CB is distracting from the forum itself.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. At first I was surprised, and then I knew exactly why you were posting this. Also, Des, not trying to be mean, but if people would leave just because the chat was taken down... I don't think we'd want them here in the first place. I don't think any forum wants chat leeches, as Joe calls them.

It's good to goof off in the chat, but posting in the forums is more important.

I just hope it works. I'm hardly ever on the chat in the first place so it won't really put an impact on me.
