| A nuclear power plant didn't explode, and Nuclear Power Plants, in fact, do not explode.
They just leak radiation.
The rest is true, however.

The rest is true, however. Really? Chernobyl exploded and caught on fire. Also, there have been a few radioactive hydrogen explosions in the containment vessels, and it has reached level 7. Have a few links: Fukoshima nuuclear incidentChernobyl nuclear disaster

Have a few links: Fukoshima nuuclear incident Chernobyl nuclear disaster Perhaps I should have phrased that better. Yes, they do explode, but not to the exaggerated levels of fiction. They explode much like any building would, they don't release a country-wide mushroom cloud. They do release radiation across vast distances, however.

| Have to agree with Joe. Only way you'd see a mushroom cloud is of course from a atomic bomb. But if one of the planets leaks a huge amount of radiation, it could head for our west coast. | |

| If I remember correctly, presence of radiation has already been detected. | |

Actually, nuclear explosions aren't the only type of explosion in which a mushroom cloud forms. My evidence is right here. Also, there's a cool GIF below showing the evolution, for lack of a better term, of a mushroom cloud.

| Still it would need to be a larger cloud of radiation than that to reach our west coast and yeah, radiation has reached to our coast but it isn't a issue. | |

The radiation isn't strong enough to cause us harm. It would be a normal amount of radiation we would experience during a normal day anyway.

| I do too. That's what I hard on Good Morning America. If more radiation was released, then I have no idea how much it could affect us. Massive amounts could be deadly maybe but something just a bit more than the radiation that hit our coast, I'm not sure. | |

| It could be bad. I'm already taking some meds to make sure it doesn't effect me too badly. | |

| I probably don't have to be worried about it as much for the moment since I'm on the eastern part. | |
