Name Changing has been disabled

The majority of the staff believes that we should get rid of name changing, since it can cause a lot of confusion as to who a person is unless you know what their profile fields are, simply put.
If you want your name changed, PM an ADMINISTRATOR, not a mod, as they can't do it. We'll change it to whatever you want, but please, don't just change it whenever you want. We don't want 20 members each changing their names five times a day for no reason.
In short, you have to PM an administrator to change your name now.

Have to agree. It does get confusing. I'm pretty sure that I'll barely change my name.

Wait, since when did we decide to activate this idea? I thought most people were against it. I think its unnecessary and takes some fun out of the site for people.

This site always finds a new way to irk me.

Around double the staff that opposed it supported it, by my count.

I would much rather prefer if we got the opinions of the members as well as the staff on this matter. Don't you think this is a little bit selfish this way?
Sure we do most of our changes between us without member input, but this is a profile field we're talking about. This directly effects the members.

And so far, nobody seems to like this idea. Well, except Rhys.

I just want to make things a little more organized.

I'm all for things being organized(most forums actually disallow name changes like this) but I still think it would have been better to ask the members as well.

I was against the name changing being disable. I still am. I feel it is unfair to the members to do this with out a heads up at all before the action was done.

I think its too much to take this away. Sure, it'll be more organized for some people but it will just get rid of the fun people have. I never change my name either, but sometimes I do to have fun. I still think its not the best idea. I really don't see this in particular much of a problem. I don't care if people change their names, I know who they are anyway without having to look at their profiles. It really doesn't confuse me. If it does I just click the profile. Its not like we have 100+ members that are ACTIVE that change their name every second. If that was the problem then disabling would be the solution and since that's not the case, its not necessary.
Since we all pretty much know each other, we should by now. To be able to tell who is who.
1. Not many people come here
2. Their group color
3. They way they talk/personalities
4. We know who actually comes on here, so we're all the same people that come on here
So it really isn't that confusing when people change their names. Not saying it can't be sometimes it is, we all know who goes on here its predictable. We're not a lot of people, and no one does name changes every second to actually cause confusion and chaos.
Point is, its not really necessary to do this, if we had a bunch of people then it would be a problem and we would have to do it. Even then, there are sites that allow you to change their names and a lot of people go there and they don't constantly change their name.

I would have made a really long post about why it should stay enabled, but I think I got my point through to Joe already.

Why not limit how many times you can change your name in a year, if possible?

I find it funny everyone that agreed with the name change suddenly decided they don't agree anymore.
Well, far be it from me to do something absolutely no one agrees with, I guess.

Since nearly everyone seems to oppose this now, I suppose I have little choice but to reactivate it.

This is what I'm pointing at. We should try and make changes and adjustments to the forum that most people will like.
Its obviously impossible to please everyone at once, but at least try to please the majority of the people instead of just yourself.

This is why I make a topic(usually a poll) about an adjustment I'm about to make before I make it.
