That banner feeling again

Back in the day, we had weekly banners. There would be a new banner every Sunday. Back then the Weekly Banners was one of SW's unique features. It was one
of the things that the members enjoyed about the site. One of the things that made Sonic World Sonic World. The members would wait in anticipation to see
what the next banner would look like, and the person who was making the banners(I.E. me.) had a good time making them.. It was fun for everyone.

In December 2009, the weekly banners came to an end with a banner contest. All of the banners from the Weekly Banners were archived in The Banner Gallery for all to see.
Isabella's banner one the contest and was hosted on this site as the main banner. Since then, the banner only changed on special occasions..


And again, that banner feeling came to me. Why stop something that people liked about the site? It was unique and fun, and its one of the things people loved about SW.
Of course we can't just start doing weekly banners again. I mean, we already went through all of the zones with over 60 banners. Doing it again just wouldn't feel
as special.

So..

I came up with a slightly new idea. Two variations, actually. The first one being, not weekly banners, but Monthly banners. Every new month the banner would change. The new banner would fit the month its in. For example, A banner in November would probably look pretty orange. November being the time of Autumn,
the leafs on the trees would turn orange and die. A banner in January would be snowy and cold. The months are much farther apart than weeks, so its less likely that a banner would be uploaded later. It would also be less stressful for me.



My other idea being Seasonal banners. Like monthly banners, these basically speak for themselves. Every time a season changes, there would be a new banner with it. Spring would be peaceful and warm, Summer might be a vacation at the beach, Fall would be leafy and orange, Winter would be snowy and cold.



Of course I will use the Sonic text font that Miles24 gave to me for these new banners. Also, if banners are to return, so are Birthday Banners. And Holiday banners.
If you all really just want to stick to one banner, then thats fine.

Well, with weekly banners, we won't have to stare at the same banner every week (or month). Seasonal banners are also cool, but I'd prefer weekly banners again.

I agree that weekly banners are quicker, and we won't have to stare at the same thing again.

But with the months, it'd probably be more fun because the months have more personality to them. The months are all named and most of them have their own holidays, etc.

The month thing is true.

It makes more sense.

Seasonal would be cool, but I think I would get tired of them after a while. And we couldn't do
Weekly Banners. I have to say Monthly.

I think seasonal or monthly banners would be good.

I'mma gonna have to go with Monthly.

But something's been bothering me. You said that Isabella's banner won the contest, and since then it hasn't changed except on special occasions. Well then, what was the special occasion that let Huski's banner stay up for so long?

Monthly is fine, it gives more time to work on them and not run out of ideas.

i think one banner should have some fan characters in there along with sonic.

Is it cool if I help make banners?

I actually wouldn't mind the return of a consistant banner change. Perhaps it would be best to have it every month on this occasion, but it would certainly be nice to have them again.

I'm the only one who voted for weekly banners >.> I don't mind monthly banners though.

I would have liked Weekly Banners, but we already went through all the zones. What else is there to do?

You mean consistent. Anyway, I agree with this point, and the constant change brings variety, and a regular schedule members could look forward to.

how about a banner that shows an morbidly explicit cartoon?

There will be a new banner up when May arrives. Birthday and Holiday banners will also be returning.



I also have an idea that involves members submitting their own banners to be held on the site.
I'll see what I can do with that idea.

Woot! *starts dancing like kirby* That's pretty cool, giving users a chance to have their banners up on the site.
